Adapter (PC) - FAQs
What's the best way to send video or audio files from Adapter to my iPhone or iPad?
  1. In Adapter, set the output destination to iTunes, then preform your conversions.
  2. In iTunes, make sure that either (a) all videos and music files are syncing to your iPhone/iPad or (b) syncing the "Adapter" playlist is enabled audio and video files.
Why does Adapter need to download FFmpeg separately from the normal install?
Adapter's backend is largely powered by the command line tool FFmpeg. FFmpeg is an open source media conversion library. To best adhere to the license agreements and avoid confusion of how their software libraries are used, we keep their binary strictly separate from ours, hence the reason it downloads separately.

The other advantage of keeping these libraries from our installer is that when we post an update to our software, you won't have to redownload the extra megabytes of these external libraries that are already on your computer.

You can learn more about FFmpeg from their website FFmpeg.org.
How much does Adapter cost?
Nothing. Adapter is 100% freeware.
Can I download flash videos from any website with Adapter? Or just youtube?
The Adapter web browser automatically starts downloading any flash video it sees on any site. The downloader works for youtube, vimeo, hulu and most other streaming media sites.

While adapter makes it possible to download these videos, please abide by the terms and conditions outlined on the webpages you choose to download from.
