meta-iPod - FAQs
meta-iPod is so slow that it doesn't work for me. What's going on?
meta-iPod was designed and built on a computer with 2,000 tracks in the iTunes Library. iTunes Libraries with similar numbers of tracks (or fewer) should work just fine. Unfortunately though, meta-iPod is written with a quadratic algorithm so the more songs you have, the slower it goes, and it goes slower exponentially. If you've got 10,000 songs you're probably going to be out of luck on this one.
But with that said, our newer, light weight program "Dupe Away" will knockout the dupes on your computer and it was built using a much faster linear search algorithm.
