Step-by-step instructions

Accessing Backups

iExplorer lets you browse both current and existing iTunes backups on Mac or Windows.

Browse Current Backup from a Connected Device

Connect your iPhone or iPad to your computer and open iExplorer.

If iTunes prompts you to sync, click No or Cancel.

From Device Overview, open Backups (center panel or left sidebar).

If needed, choose whether to use the latest backup or refresh/create a new one.

Browse Existing iTunes Backups

If no device is connected, click Explore iTunes Backups.

Under Browse iTunes Backups, select the backup you want to inspect.

Browse Backup Contents

After selecting a backup:

  • Open Backup Explorer to browse raw files and folders.
  • Open parsed sections like Messages, Contacts, Voicemail, Call History, Notes, Safari, and Calendar for readable data.

You can transfer files via drag-and-drop and use right-click actions for additional options.
